Objectworld’s Unified Communications Solution Delivers Return on Investment in as Little as 15 Days
Small and medium-sized businesses retain existing hardware and message stores while improving productivity
OTTAWA, Canada — November 19, 2008 — Objectworld Communications Corp. today
announced that its Objectworld UC Server Standard Edition will enable businesses to receive a return on
investment in as little as 15 days, with enhanced productivity and reduced operational costs. Small and medium-sized businesses can choose to keep existing phones, PBXs, message stores, voice paging speakers or they can deploy UC Server Standard Edition with a new IP-PBX system.
Objectworld UC Server Standard Edition for a 100-seat business costs roughly $75/user, plus installation
and training (for a total system cost between $10,000 and $15,000 depending on the professional services
required). The pricing estimate includes Objectworld software and third-party hardware to work with a PBX
system. Based on a recent survey from the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average hourly wage for
non-supervisory employees is $18.20. With the added productivity boost of unified messaging, employees will
save on average 40 minutes a day, or about $10 every day for each employee. In just 15 days, 100 employees
earning $20/hr will have saved their business the cost of the system.
“With Objectworld, voice mail and call-flow management are completely integrated into e-mail and fax —
it is not just a ‘bolt-on’,” said Jerry McConnell, Manager of Technology with Wall Street Systems, a financial
services firm based in Manhattan. “Managers love having the flexibility of being able to get all of their
messages without having to come into the office. Additionally, voice mail truly becomes voice ‘mail’ — not
just telephone tag. We saw productivity improvements almost immediately.”
Objectworld UC Server bundles unified messaging, Windows-based administration tools, integrated fax,
point-and-click call control, a service creation environment, excellent support for mobile employees and
teleworkers, and more, all as a single software application for Microsoft Windows. Objectworld UC Server
Standard Edition also requires no significant changes to existing infrastructure.
Delivering value to our customers is the driver for everything we do,” said Ray Nelson, Chief
Technology Officer for Consultedge, a leading Avaya Platinum Business Partner. “The Objectworld UC
Server can integrate email and voicemail with Avaya’s PBX, expanding the technology options we can
use to design and implement the best communications solution for each of our clients.”
In addition to unified messaging, the solution provides a number of additional ROI-driving features and capabilities.
- Integrated fax capabilities: Objectworld reduces the capital costs involved with fax machines, paper
and toner, but also cuts approximately $40 for every fax line out of a business’ operational expenses
every month. For school divisions, legal practices or real estate and insurance brokerages, this can
save some businesses hundreds to thousands every month.
- Simple, wizard based deployment: Objectworld’s wizard-based installation, bulk user import into
Active Directory, simple legacy PBX integration, open, standards-based hardware and Windows-based
software make it very quick to deploy.
- Windows-based administration: Businesses save approximately 1 hour/desktop/year, for a savings of
approximately 100 hours/year on moves, adds and changes over traditional PBX-based administration.
- Service creation environment: businesses create phone-based applications that automate repetitive
requests for information, freeing employees to do other, higher value work. Business can also build
phone-based applications that drive revenue generation.
“With the economy slowing in the United States, a lot of our customers very rightly want to know how
unified communications will deliver to them a return on their investment,” said David Levy, president
and chief executive officer at Objectworld.” With Objectworld UC Server, most customers can see a return
on their investment in a couple of weeks, even more if they have multiple fax lines, require Blackberry
support, or need to support a number of branch offices or teleworkers.”
