Objectworld Connect Interoperability Program Requirements
When you join the Program

Getting Started

  • Objectworld expects that you acknowledge your participation in the program in your press releases, promotional literature and on your web site.
  • You must assign a member of your systems engineering or development team to act as the primary technical point of contact with Objectworld.
  • You must assign a business development manager to work with Objectworld to develop joint marketing initiatives.
  • You must grant access to Objectworld to any online marketing and technical resources normally available to your technical partners. Such online resources typically allow access to firmware/software updates, integration notes, technical bulletins, release notices, FAQs, application notes and integration guides.

Achieve Interoperability
Once you have joined the program Objectworld requires that you expend reasonable commercial effort to successfully complete interoperability testing of at least one product within 180 days of entering the program. This requires partners to extend the following services to Objectworld:

  • Provide at no cost to Objectworld during the initial testing period a sufficient quantity of partner products to support Objectworld's interoperability testing.
  • Provide at no cost to Objectworld any necessary training for Objectworld staff at a location mutually determined by Partner and Objectworld.
  • Rectify product defects or otherwise modify the product under test such that it achieves interoperability according to Objectworld's interoperability test plan.

Right to Use Copyright Information and Trademarks
To facilitate the production of the necessary Partner Program documents and marketing promotion by Objectworld, partners must provide Objectworld with the following, subject to partner permissions and guidelines:

  • The rights to re-use copyright information in partner usage, installation, configuration, and setup documents associated with the partner products.
  • Soft copy of partner usage, installation, configuration, and setup documents associated with the products.
  • The rights to use appropriate partner trademarks, and other marks and logos, as permitted according to partner permissions and guidelines.

Firmware/Software Redistribution Rights
For a partner product to be granted the Objectworld Connect PLUS™ Interoperability Mark, partners must grant to Objectworld re-distribution rights for the product firmware and/or software, including any product configuration firmware and/or software. This is required because Objectworld products download a compatible version of the partner firmware/software into the partner product to ensure interoperability, and in order to do so Objectworld requires redistribution rights to the partner product firmware/software.

Objectworld does not require re-distribution rights for the product firmware and/or software this is used in partner products that are granted the Objectworld Connect™ Interoperability Mark. If partners want Objectworld to provide access to such product firmware and/or software in its software distribution and/or via its Online Resource Center, then partners may grant to Objectworld re-distribution rights for such product firmware and/or software. Objectworld will only re-distribute such product software/firmware when it is granted re-distribution rights.

When the Interoperability Marks are Awarded

Maintain Interoperability
Once a partner product has been awarded an Interoperability Mark, Objectworld requires that you expend reasonable ongoing commercial effort to maintain interoperability between the current release versions of the Partner Product and Objectworld's Products. This requires partners to extend the following services to Objectworld:

  • Provide third-line support at no charge to Objectworld (and if necessary directly to Objectworld Authorized Resellers and End Users) for Partner Products that hold Interoperability Marks.
  • Sell to Objectworld, on its best commercial terms, a sufficient number of partner products suitable for regression testing and the testing of updated versions of the product.
  • Offer to Objectworld participation in any Beta testing programs, and provide at no cost to Objectworld all released versions of the product firmware and/or software, including any product configuration firmware and/or software.
  • Provide telephone and/or e-mail-based engineering support to Objectworld.
  • Identify to Objectworld any product defects that affect interoperability.
  • Inform Objectworld of new releases and versions of the Partner Products and any new feature functionality that they support.
  • Rectify product defects and otherwise modify new versions of the product such that it achieves interoperability according to Objectworld's interoperability test plan.

Marketing
Objectworld expects that partners will engage with Objectworld in the following marketing activities with respect to partner products that obtain the Interoperability Marks.

  • Make press releases to announce the granting of Interoperability Marks to partner products.
  • List Objectworld's products as interoperable in their promotional literature and on Partner's web site.
  • Co-operate with Objectworld in producing joint marketing collateral and joint marketing programs.
  • When possible, feature Objectworld products in their online webinars and trade show demonstrations.
